Jude Shawera, as Director, Asset Securitization, Corporate Treasury, Royal Bank of Canada, is responsible for the structuring and execution of the securitization of the bank’s own assets. He also works on various projects including recently leading Corporate Treasury’s LIBOR transition. Jude has over 20 years of treasury experience including over 15 years in asset securitization. In his current assignment, the focus is on the bank’s mortgage and credit card securitization programs. Jude has prior experience in both public and private auto loan, auto lease, and dealer floorplan securitizations while responsible for the Canadian securitization programs of Ally Credit Canada Limited, formerly GMAC of Canada, Limited. Jude has been active in multiple industry working groups and is currently serving as chair of the Mortgage-Backed Securities Issuer Association (MBSIA).

Salim Hemani is the SVP Treasury and Capital Markets for Peoples Group and its subsidiaries. An MBA and a CFA, Salim has been with Peoples since mid-2018 and is responsible for all funding, hedging and capital market activities of Peoples. Prior to Peoples, Salim was with Macquarie Canada for 10 years in their treasury.

Avish has held various senior positions and responsibilities including the oversight of Sales, Underwriting, Risk Management, Mortgage Servicing, Subservicing, Default Management Mortgage Investigations, Financial Reporting, Investor relations and Audit. Mr. Buck is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), has an MBA from Queen’s University and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University.

Agnes is a Director, Term Funding and Capital Management in Group Treasury, Scotiabank where she is responsible for term wholesale funding management including senior unsecured, securitization and capital. Agnes is a seasoned professional with over 16 years of experience in the financial industry. She began her career on the buyside management of alternative investments including private equity and hedge funds, transitioning to a bank treasury role in 2015. In 2018, she joined her current group with oversight over Covered Bonds, CMBs and term Asset Backed Securities, later expanding her role to include senior unsecured and capital funding. She also oversees Scotiabank’s sustainable bond issuances and is involved in other ESG-related projects at the Bank.
Mark Hall is the Director of Treasury for both Alterna Savings and Credit Union Limited and CS Alterna Bank. In his role, he is responsible for all activities related to mortgage funding and securitization programs. He is also responsible for overseeing the Treasury groups in managing liquidity and other Treasury related risks. Mr. Hall is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
Kyle Howard is the Director of Securitization for Community Trust Company, where he has worked since 2015, holding various positions across Risk Management, Treasury, and Securitization. In his current role, he is responsible for all wholesale funding and mortgage trading programs. Kyle holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Brock University, a Financial Risk Managers designation, and is a CFA charterholder.
